Meet Jarrod Bowman

Hi, my name is Jarrod. In 2023, I graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). I have always had a deep interest in fitness and sport, having played many different sports throughout my life. I started playing soccer at five and continue to play to this day. My interest in sport also forms an important part of my work in Sports Physiotherapy in Toukley, helping active patients recover from injury and return to the activities they enjoy.

Professional Background and Clinical Expertise

After leaving school, I completed my certification to become a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. I continued my education with a Diploma in Fitness, which provided a foundational understanding of the human body and how to best help clients manage injuries. Over the past 15 years, I have trained and assisted thousands of clients to achieve their goals. To date, I have personally performed over 5,000 clinical treatments, helping a wide range of patients return to the activities they love.

Advanced Treatment Modalities

I have developed a special interest in advanced clinical modalities including radial and focused shockwave therapy as well as dry needling. These tools allow me to provide a comprehensive approach to pain management and tissue recovery. My clinical philosophy focuses on the importance of exercise combined with manual therapy techniques.

Personal Journey and Community Connection

In 2014, I ruptured my ACL, which required surgery. Navigating that rehab process developed my keen interest in physiotherapy. Outside of the clinic, I am actively involved in our local community as a coach for the junior girls teams at Toukley Soccer Club. My two girls inspire me to stay healthy and active, and I endeavour to help my clients and the next generation of athletes lead healthy, active lifestyles too.
