Sports Physiotherapy in toukley
CLEAR ANSWERS FIRST
Sports Injuries Need a Clear Diagnosis
Pain tells you something is wrong, but it does not always tell you why.
A hamstring strain, Achilles tendon problem, shoulder injury, ankle sprain, or knee injury may be influenced by more than the painful area itself. Training load, strength deficits, joint stiffness, poor movement control, recovery habits, running mechanics, and previous injuries can all contribute.
At Canton Beach Physio, we assess both the injury and the bigger picture around it.
We want to understand what is painful, why it became painful, and what needs to change so you can return to sport with confidence.
Your assessment may include
- Whole-body biomechanical assessment
- Fascial system assessment
- Muscle strength
- Joint mobility
- Tendon load tolerance
- Movement patterns
- Training history
- Sport demands
- Previous injury history
- Return-to-sport goals

SETTLE SYMPTOMS
Hands-on treatment to settle pain and restore movement
Early treatment focuses on reducing pain, improving joint and soft tissue movement, and helping irritated tissues tolerate normal activity again. Treatment is matched to your injury, stage of healing, and sport demands.
- Manual therapy and soft tissue techniques
- Mobility work for stiff or tight areas
- Education on load, pacing, and symptom response
REBUILD CAPACITY
Strength rehab is what gets you back to sport
Pain relief matters, but strength and control are what make returning to sport safer. Your rehabilitation plan progresses from simple exercises performed with a lower level of effort to heavier training performed with high muscular effort and strict control.
This time efficient approach helps you build strength while taking up very little of your week. Our gym includes specialised Pendulum strength equipment from Rogers Athletic, along with New Tech equipment, allowing resistance to be matched to your current ability and progressed as your strength improves.
How we rebuild capacity
- Restore movement without pain and with good control
- Establish safe technique using exercises at a lower intensity
- Progress resistance as strength improves
- Train with high muscular effort while maintaining strict control
- Build the strength required for the demands of your sport
SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
Focused and radial shockwave for tendon and sports injuries
Canton Beach Physio is the only clinic on the Central Coast offering both focused and radial shockwave therapy. Having access to both systems allows your physiotherapist to select the treatment that best matches the depth, location and stage of your injury.
Shockwave may be considered for selected tendon and sports injuries that have not responded as expected to rest, exercise or other treatment. Your physiotherapist will first confirm whether it is appropriate for your condition.
